Phillip G. Bernstein is a Vice President at Autodesk, a leading provider of software for architecture and engineering. A practicing architect with twenty five years of experience, he leads Industry Strategy and Relations for the AEC Division, where he is responsible for setting the company’s future vision and strategy for technology serving the building industry, as well as cultivating and sustaining the firm's relationships with strategic industry leaders and associations. Prior to joining Autodesk, Phil was an Associate Principal at Cesar Pelli & Associates, where he managed many of the firm’s most complex commissions. Phil has taught at the Yale School of Architecture as a Lecturer in Professional Practice since 1988. He writes and lectures extensively about practice and technology issues, has been published in Architectural Record, Architecture, Design Intelligence and Perspecta and quoted in The Economist and The Wall Street Journal. He received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude with Distinction in Architecture in 1979 from Yale University and a Master of Architecture in 1983, also from Yale University. He is a Trustee of the Emma Willard School of Troy, NY, a Senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and former Chair of the AIA National Documents Committee.

Jens Borstelmann is a registered architect who works as a project architect for Zaha Hadid Architects in London.
Throughout his five year collaboration with ZHA he has been responsible for a variety of built projects including the Nordpark Cable Car Stations in Innsbruck, Austria and the Chanel Mobile Art Pavilion in Hong Kong, China.
On a product design level he worked on the Zaha-cutlery for WMF/Germany and the Z.Car, a compact emission-free concept car aimed to go into a limited edition production.
He gave several lectures on digital design and its realization at the Technical University in Innsbruck, Austria at the "Institute for Experimental Architecture" as well as at the "Shape to Fabrication 2" conference by SimplyRhino.
Jens studied architecture in Hanover/Germany and Delft/Netherlands and graduated from the Design Research Laboratory Masters program at the Architectural Association in London. |

Thomas has been registered architect in the UK since 2004 and currently works as a project architect at Zaha Hadid Architects in London.

Exhibition Designs for ZHA include the “Ice-Storm” Installation in the MAK in Vienna, Austria; the “Big Wave” for the Steirische Herbst in Graz, Austria; the “Alessi Towers” in Venice, Italy and the Zaha Hadid Retrospective “30 Years in Architecture” Exhibition in the Guggenheim Museum in New York, USA.
His collaboration on Industrial Design Objects involve the “Vortex” Chandelier for Zumtobel, Austria; the “Iceberg” Bench for Sawaya&Moroni in Milan, Italy; the “Tee & Coffee Piazza” Set for Alessi in Crusinallo, Italy and the “Crevasse” Twin Vases for Alessi.
Previous employments are a 1998 - 2000 collaboration with Pichler & Traupmann Architekten ZT GmbH (www.pxt.at) and assistant curatorial roles for exhibition designs (e.g.: “What is living” 2000) in the Vienna Kuenstlerhaus at the Karlsplatz in Vienna, Austria. Lon R. Grohs, a Principal and Creative Director at Neoscape, is a recognized leader and visionary within the architectural visualization industry.

Evert Vandenberghe is an architect with more than 12 years of experience in 3D. Working as a freelance architectural illustrator since 1998, he co-founded Animated Motion Studios in 2000. As an art director and workflow designer at ‘AniMotionS’ he is responsible for the implementation of techniques and applications to guarantee a high production rate at a superb visual quality.
AniMotionS is a Belgium-based company that creates 3d-presentations and visualisations for architecture, urban interior & industrial design. Born to do magic, AniMotionS creates atmospheres of buildings that do not exist yet, or don’t exist anymore. The 3d-works of AniMotionS have been awarded and published internationally.
Better known as ‘nisus’ to the online community, Evert has been a Supermoderator on the CGArchitect-forum since it’s early days. Never afraid to share his knowledge, experiences and skills he has helped many members into the world of architectural visualisation. Most recently he has also been chosen to be a moderator at the MyMentalRay-forum.
‘Mr.E’ has played in several bands ranging from blues, swing & boogie-woogie to 60s and 70s rock. Currently he plays the piano, the organ and the bluesharp in the Rock’n Roll group called ‘The Black Chevies’. Evert is also a devoted dancer. A few months ago he achieved his ‘goldstar’-level for both ballroom and latin dances. Always busy or making fun, you might eventually catch him sketching the environment in one of his many sketchbooks. |

Ximo has worked on many large scale animation and film projects across the UK and worldwide. Most notably Ximo liaised with the London 2012 bid team, delivered the CGI, co-ordinating an extensive team to create imagery and film sequences that very simply, yet effectively communicated the Olympic vision to a global audience. Other projects Ximo has delivered include work for Mercedes Benz to launch the new Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands, Orchid House, (Lower mill estate, waterfront landmark homes project in the Cotswolds), which featured in BBC2’s design show and several large scale productions that incorporated green screen studio shoots for projects in the middle east. Ximo is currently overseeing production on the next suite of communication for the press for the Olympics and working on a large production in Kuwait promoting a mixed use district in central Kuwait City. |

Scott D. Davis is an AEC Technical Specialist with Autodesk, Inc., and is an expert in the use of Autodesk Revit Architecture. After joining Autodesk in March of 2007, he has promoted BIM around the country at events including the AIA Convention in San Antonio, Texas and Green Build 2007 in Chicago Illinois. He has taught classes on the subject of BIM and the use of Autodesk Revit at Autodesk University, and was the founder of the Revit Users Group Inland Empire. Prior to joining Autodesk, Scott was a Project Manager and the Technology Coordinator at WLC Architects, Inc, in Rancho Cucamonga, California for 8 years. Tim has authored and successfully taught the URISA-certified 3D Geospatial workshop in the U.S. and Canada for over 3 years. He is chair of the 3D Information Management working group within the international standards organization, Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and contributes to a range of industry-leading 3D city model initiatives.

Rob Graves and Didier Madoc-Jones met in the 1980’s whilst working together as architects and formed GMJ in 1990. They were united by a sheared vision to create the most beautiful and realistic computer imagery to be used in an architectural setting, a 21st century take on the grand tradition of architectural illustration and model making.
GMJ have become a leading force in the production of high resolution photomontage imagery. Rob and Didier strive to push the limits of 3d imaging, driven by a desire to create environments that people can enter into, believe in and understand.
Recently, Rob and Didier have been involved in research and development looking at 3d modelling of existing urban environments. This work has led to the creation of the London CityModel, as well as other cities around the UK, and a DTI funded project working with London Southbank University developing software to automatically create 3d models from laser scan point cloud data.

Didier worked as an architect in the 1980’s at SOM and Fletcher Priest which is where he and Robert forged a mutual ambition to create a new industry. James is a registered architect in New York State and has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from high-end residential to large transportation projects. His experience includes budgeting, programming, code analysis, design and construction documentation, shop drawing review, client relations, and construction administration. In 2001, James was given the opportunity to assume the duties of CAD Manager for SOM’s New York office which includes coverage of the Washington, DC and Happauge, NY satellite offices. In this role, he has developed and reconciled SOM’s firm-wide CAD Standards, established protocols for training and education, and developed a series of custom productivity tools for technical drafting.
Beginning in 2002, James has also been involved in the implementation and development of Autodesk Revit at SOM. Starting with a grassroots group of self-motivated individuals, he brought this new building information modeling tool into prominence with SOM New York’s Technical Architecture group and has since become the supervisor for firm-wide implementation as well as template and content development. SOM is currently using Autodesk’s Revit Architecture and Revit Structure on a number of large, high profile projects and continues to refine its approach to a long-term vision of an “enabled design” work flow.
James is also the president of the New York City Revit User Group, a member of the DWF Extended Design Group and is the AUGI Revit Community Chair. |

Ryan is the head of 3D production at squint/opera, an award-winning film and media production studio operating in the space between the film industry and architectural practice. Combining humour and narration with cutting-edge design and imaginative illustrative techniques, he focuses on creating films that bring life to architectural projects.
Trained as an architect at the University of Waterloo in Canada, Ryan focused on using 3D modelling, animation and film not just as a means of visualizing projects but to help explore ideas and to present the concepts behind his designs.
For the last 5 years Ryan has worked in both architecture and visualization firms both in Canada and the UK. He has worked in every aspect of still image and film production and is behind some of the most technically challenging CG projects at squint/opera including the award-winning film for the London 2012 Olympic Stadium and recently a film for the new world trade centre in New York. |

Jorge A. Tiscareno is a CG Specialist in the architecture field. Based in Houston, he is currently the Digital Design Manager for the southcentral region of Gensler. Jorge brings 12 years of architecture and visualization experience to Gensler and is also the Co-Chair for the Visualization Task Force.
He began is career as an intern architect but started to gravitate toward the digital side of his field almost instantly. Dealing with a wide range of issues and software, Jorge has been a CG Artist for the past 8 years and for the past 2 he has become a Digital Manager controlling all aspects of the process. His main goal, however has been to streamline the digital workflow and to get the most life out of all 3D data created in every stage of the project. Jorge holds an Architecture Degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Cd. Juarez in Mexico and worked in several firms in El Paso, Texas as a designer and CG Artist prior to moving to Houston with his wife, daughter and son. |

Mark Gerhard is a Media and Entertainment application engineer for IMAGINiT. He has had 17 years of experience with 3D Studio Max since its inception. He was the first artist hired to test the software in 1990, and worked with the original development team including Gary Yost, Tom Hudson and Dan Silva. He was one of the first 3D Studio instructors, training most of the original dealer channel and educators around the world (Ted Boardman was one of his very first students!) He served as a product manager for the 2D animation products, Animator Pro and Animator Studio. He was also the first application engineer at Autodesk dedicated to the multimedia products, He spent the last six years of his Autodesk tenure as the lead writer for the tutorials that shipped with 3ds max versions 3 through 6. He currently serves as an Autodesk webboard forum assistant for the 3ds max forums.
He has served as technical editor on numerous books on 3D Studio, including the Inside 3ds max series for New Riders, and the Mastering Visually series for Wiley (now Sybex). He has also taught 3D Modeling and Animation at Napa Valley College, Santa Rosa Junior College, Sonoma State University, Academy of Art University and Digital Media Academy (at Stanford University) since 2001. He has worked for NIIT (New Delhi) created online courses on for Art Institute Online and Westwood College. He has freelanced doing design visualization for numerous clients including Marin Solar, Leinow and Associates and the Citys of Cloverdale, Novato and Santa Rosa.
Beyond his 3D and teaching, he holds a degree in Painting and Sculpture from UC Berkeley, where he wrote and illustrated a children's book (The Elf of the Shelf Sees Himself) as part of an honors independent study program in Art.
He has also had a longterm involvement with India, he studied classical North Indian music with Ali Akbar Khansahib, Shankar Ghosh and Jnan Prakash Ghosh from 1970 to 1998, and has performed on the tabla with Allen Ginsburg, Jai Uttal, Geoffrey Gordon, and Babukishan Das Baul. He can be heard on the albums Love, Serve, Remember, and Swaha featuring Bhagavan Das and Amazing Grace. He has lived in India and studied Bengal folk music with Baidyanath Das Baul, and is proficient player of the gubgubi (khammok), khartals (manjira), dholak, khanjeera, and harmonium. He speaks a passable Hindi and can cook a pretty aloo gobi curry as well.
He has 4 children and one grandchild. When he isn't teaching 3D, he enjoys modeling, animating and rendering, as well as character rigging. Just kidding. he hates character rigging. |
